Top Tips for Parents of A Child That Plays Tennis

Top Tips for Parents of A Child That Plays Tennis

Parents play a very significant role in the sport of tennis for the child. As long as you are a member of the team, the coach’s job is to work with you. When your child trains with a coach in tennis academy Dubai, that coach becomes your coach as well indirectly. Therefore, it is crucial that you and your child adhere to the same idea. Being a tennis player’s parent might be challenging because most of the time, everything is new to you. Because of this, it’s critical to understand how to cooperate without obstructing the training schedule. A parent-player-coach triangle calls for effective communication in this kind of interaction.

Tips for parents of a child that plays tennis

Below are some of the tips that every parent must follow so that they could also contribute and support the child in shaping a good career in tennis

    • Talk with your child so that they forget the failure. Remind them that they will face their opponent again, that there is always space for improvement, that the match was excellent, and that it merits a prize. Give your child the encouragement to be happy. Talk about the instances in which they performed well.

    • Never get angry with your child if he can’t perform. Everybody wants to win the game and give their best but the result is not in their hands so just be calm and composed.

    • Always remember that the opponents your child faced are children too and you must not be mean or harsh to them as well. Treat them like you treat your child and congratulate them on winning

    • Always teach your child to support and appreciate referees, line judges and other umpires involved in the match. Never support them if they criticise them and teach them to respect the judges no matter which side the result goes

    • Never try to take the place of the coach and start teaching your child how to play the game. You just need to motivate them to play a good game but instructing them on the intricacies of the game will make them confused. Let coaches do their work of teaching the game and you do your work of motivating the child

    • Always motivate your child to train hard. Motivate them to wake up early in the morning and go to the court. Remember, they are just children and might feel lazy on some days but you need to keep them motivated every day to work hard and focus. This will definitely improve their results.

    • Never go against the coaches and always support them. If a coach punishes the child for not doing something told, you should support the coach and not the child. Supporting the child in such cases might make him lose respect for the coach and will also make the coach demotivated to teach your child

    • Try not to be tense when your child is playing rather always enjoy the game. You worried facial expressions could worry your child too and that will definitely hamper the results. Always smile and enjoy the game so that the child feels motivated whenever he sees you during the game. This will boost his confidence for sure.

    • Always set good examples in front of your child and motivate them to be bigger players and human beings like the legends. Tell them to follow the footsteps of the legend and make sure they idolise those legends.

    • Always be with your child and accompany them everywhere so that they don’t feel alone. This will boost morale.

Client Success Story

my coach is Chetun, I’ve been taking his class, both group one and individual one, both are great!!! He’s experienced coach, knows how to teach, especially for entry -intermediate level players. They also provide good racket (better if they replace some old strings). Very prime location and relatively good price for this quality.
