Beginners Guide to Play Tennis

Tennis is one of the most popular sports in the world and is played by millions of people either professionally or for recreational and health purposes. Tennis is played on different courts like clay, grass, hard court etc and people enjoy playing it on all surfaces. Tennis at the Professional level requires a lot of physical and mental strength and has to be started at an early age by joining a tennis coaching in Dubai. Tennis is not as easy and simple as it looks on your TV sets and requires a lot of practice and training to perfect each shot and build a temperament. If you are a beginner and want to play tennis, this article will clear all your doubts about tennis and teach you the intricacies of the sport.

Why should you play tennis?

As discussed earlier, tennis is a sport that requires a lot of mental and physical strength and if a kid starts to learn tennis from a very young age, it will be very beneficial for the health as well as mental strength. If the kid likes the sport further, he can play it professionally as well. Tennis improves hand-eye coordination, improves strategizing skills, improves decision making skills as every shot has to be decided within seconds. The agility and the flexibility of the body is improved and gives you a healthy life free from diseases and illness. When you play tennis, you meet different people every day on the court and your mind feels relaxed so tennis is the best way to kill depression.

Basic rules of tennis

Being a beginner, no matter which sport you play, you must first know the rules of that sport so that it can be played correctly. Even before stepping onto the court, it is very important that you know the basic rules of tennis which are listed below

  1. Play within the lines

The serve in singles tennis must always land above the net and within the opposing service box of the opponent. A “let” occurs when the ball strikes the net but still falls in the appropriate service box; the server then gets to re-serve the game. The ball must remain within the singles court borders, which are the inner sidelines, throughout a rally. The outside lanes are used for doubles tennis.

  1. Scoring system

Tennis has a special scoring system, so it’s crucial to maintain score if you want to know who will win (and which side you should be serving from). Even if their score is lower than their opponent’s, the server always announces their score first.

  1. Your racquet cannot touch the net

At any moment during a point, you lose if you or your racket physically contact the net in any way. Any adjustment to the location of the net, no matter how unintentional, is prohibited since it serves as an equal barrier between the two sides

  1. You cannot lose the racquet

You must always have your racket in your hands. You will lose the point if you drop or hurl the racket at the ball. Only your racket and not any other part of your body can be used to return the ball. The ball may also strike the handle or triangle; it need not just make contact with the racket face to be in play.

  1. Ball should not bounce twice

While in the rally, the ball must be hit either after one bounce or without a bounce directly but if the ball bounces twice on your court, you will lose the point as the ball cannot be hit after two bounces.

Client Success Story

my coach is Chetun, I’ve been taking his class, both group one and individual one, both are great!!! He’s experienced coach, knows how to teach, especially for entry -intermediate level players. They also provide good racket (better if they replace some old strings). Very prime location and relatively good price for this quality.
